Arvilla C. (Smith) Christensen

Of Waupaca, age 97, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018.  She was born in the Town of Leon on February 12, 1921 to the late Fred and Elsie (Bartel) Smith. Arvilla graduated from Wild Rose High School.  She married Norman Christensen on October 19, 1940.  Arvilla was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed the quilting and Bible Study group. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing cards and sports of all kinds. Arvilla dearly loved her family and church.  She always counted her many blessings during her lifetime.

 She will be sadly missed by her son: Larry (Judith) Christensen of Menominee, MI; grandchildren: Bruce (Kelly) Christensen and Sara Christensen, great grandchildren: Rachel and Hannah Christensen, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, brothers, Marlin,Everett, Frederick,  and Robert Smith, sisters, Adeline Moldenhauer and Roseada Thornton.

The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church,  1120 Evans Rd. Waupaca.  The visitation will be on Wednesday at church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.    Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Saxeville.
