Arthur Stephen “Steve" Hanson (age 63 years) passed away on Thursday, June 18 at the Appleton Medical Center.  Graveside services with full Military Honors were held on June 23 at the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King WI, a family celebration followed with a cruise on the Chief Waupaca Sternwheeler on the Chain O’Lakes.   Steve was born February 18, 1952 in Owatonna, Minnesota.  His life's journey would take him to Albert Lea MN, Anchorage AK, Jupiter FL and Madison WI.  At age 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served his country with honor and pride.  This service to our country would ultimately define who he was as a son, husband, father and grandfather.  Steve returned to the states and attended Stevens Point University, married his best friend and soul mate, Mary Funk, and was blessed with 3 children.
Steve had many passions beyond his family which included riding his motorcycle.  He was a kind and compassionate man and was always willing to help those in need.  Steve was a member and Sunday School Teacher at the Christ Lutheran Church in Deforest WI.  Steve’s faith and love for God was an integral part of who he was and what defined him as a servant to the Lord.
